FPC Story Groups 2023

If you’ve been around FPC for long, you know we deeply value  intergenerational relationships. When Paul exhorts us to encourage one another, bear with one another, love one another, and many other “one anothers,” he doesn’t just mean the people we gravitate towards most naturally. We tend to make friends most easily with people who are similar to us in age, life stage, profession, etc. but we often find fresh encouragement for our faith when we take time to form a relationship with someone a little older or a little younger than ourselves. Joining a story group is a great way to begin (or deepen) a friendship across generational lines this Fall. Here’s what a Story Group looks like:

·         3-4 people of the same gender with no more than 2 born in the same decade (preferably all different decades).

·         Groups meet five times (every other week during the fall is suggested) on a day/time/place of their choosing (over lunch, evening dessert, early morning walk, whatever suits the group)

·         Groups will be provided with a guide for each meeting, including intentional and engaging questions to facilitate story-sharing and prayer over the five meetings.

If you’d like to try a Story Group this Fall, fill out the form below and the Community Committee will connect you with an intergenerational group. We’re excited to see how God could use story-sharing to strengthen our ability to love and serve one another as a church body.
