04 Sep September Note From Dri: Fall Kick Off
We are kicking off the fall semester of Christian Education Classes in just a few days! We’re so excited for you to join this year’s offerings and see what amazing things God has in store for us this fall.
Sunday School kicks off September 8th with a potluck breakfast at 9am (30 minutes before our normal Sunday School time). At this breakfast the children and youth will meet their teachers and get to know their classes. All four of our elementary and PreK classes will be going through the same curriculum: The Biggest Story Bible Storybook. Postcards with the exact dates of each of the Bible stories can be found at the check in desk. At this breakfast the adults will also get to hear a little bit about the three adult classes that will be available for this fall. Acts will span the entire semester while The After Party and the Church History: Islam classes will each be six weeks long in succession of one another. These Sunday school classes are a great way to go deeper in the Word and to think deeply about the Christian life and faith.
Wednesday nights kick off September 11th with dinner at 5:30 and the We: Enter the Tabernacle class starts at 6pm. Dinner is $5 per person with a max of $20 per family. This is going to be an exciting class where we learn about the different elements of the Tabernacle in an experiential way with our five senses. Nursery will be provided for kids three and under, but everyone from four to forty, to ninety-four will enjoy this class. There will be dramatic readings, group table games, creative elements, and experiences that you will not want to miss. If you’ve ever wondered what the Tabernacle was really like, how it worked and why it matters to us today, this is an immersive opportunity to learn just that. This class does need a sign up so we can designate groups before our first class, so sign up by clicking the button below! Please sign up by Sept. 9th!
Youth group, for grades 7th through 12th, will begin on September 8th, first on Sunday evenings for six weeks, and then make the move to Wednesday nights on October 23rd. The first six weeks we will be looking at Deuteronomy, Moses’ speech and admonition to the second generation of Israelites who were waiting to enter the promised land. As the next generation, this book has a lot to say to our teens as they prepare to step into active roles in our church and in the body of Christ. The second six weeks we will be looking at Identity and how we find our identity. More importantly, in whom we find our identity!
I can’t wait to see you there!
