1) When you hear the word “outcast” what image comes to mind? Think about things like what does the person look like, what they have done, how do they sound when they speak, and where do they come from? Why do you think this is the person that comes to mind?
2) The sermon mentioned the problem of our individualistic worldview and also mentioned that it runs counter to the Biblical picture of our relationship to one another. How comfortable are you at the thought that you have responsibilities to others and they to you? How does this affect our response to outcasts?
3) How does the scope of God’s mission compare to your thoughts about how you respond to outcasts?
4) When you look around you, how might small actions for outcasts shape you? What will you do this week and whose help will you need to do it?
