From December 7, 2025 Sermon – Luke 1:26-38 – Second Sunday of Advent (Peace)
1) Think of some examples in the Bible of God showing his kindness to unexpected and lowly people. How might this bring you comfort? How might it challenge you?
2) When we are confused with what God is doing, we tend to develop questions about what God is actually like. How does Jesus demonstrate God’s trustworthiness and the truth of God’s character? It may be helpful to consider what some of your emotional objections are during times of confusion, then ponder how Jesus shows an answer.
3) The sermon mentions that God sometimes draws analogies between things that seem impossible and something within our personal experience to encourage us in our times of confusion. Share an example of something that God has done (the more personal the better!). How does remembering this embolden trust in your current circumstances?
