04 Aug A Word From…
Christian Education (Adult Sunday School)
This fall, our adult education offerings invite us to consider how God shapes us into Christ-likeness through Scripture, spiritual disciplines, theological study, and engagement with the world around us, forming us into people who love God and our neighbors more faithfully. Whether you are entering these conversations for the first time or are a longtime member continuing to grow in faith, we hope you will find a place to learn, reflect, and be encouraged.
One class will focus on Jesus’ practice of radical dependence on the Father and the counter-cultural invitation to depend on God in every area of life. In a world that often prizes self-sufficiency and control, we will consider what it means to follow and depend on Christ in trust, humility, and obedience.
A second class will explore faithful engagement with technology. How can we use technology in ways that glorify God, serve our neighbors, and strengthen rather than diminish our life with Him? Together, we will consider both the opportunities and the dangers of technology as we seek wisdom for our daily habits and relationships.
Our third class will consider the gift of literature for the life of faith. Stories and poems can awaken wonder, help us recognize the brokenness of the world, and deepen our longing for justice. As we engage literature thoughtfully, we can also grow in our understanding of what it means to love God and neighbor well.
In addition to these classes, we’re looking forward to resuming our Wednesday evening small groups. These conversations, which reflect on the Sunday sermon and Scriptures, have provided us with rich opportunities to share life and pray for one another throughout the week.
We’ll be sharing more details about these adult education opportunities in the coming weeks. We hope you’ll join us this fall as we learn together, encourage one another, and seek to be shaped into the likeness of Christ.
