November’s Outreach partner is The Manna Center.  It was established over 30 years ago by churches (including First Pres) that wanted to coordinate efforts and improve assistance to those in need in our community.  Perhaps you might know them best through their food assistance programs…we partner with The Manna Center each November through their Holiday Meal Bag program (bags are still available and due back to the church on November 16) and our 5th Sunday food drives (the next of these is at the end of this month).  They are expecting an extremely high number of meal bag requests, so thank you for partnering with them to meet the extraordinary need this year.

The Manna Center also operates a thrift store of clothing and household goods.  They do welcome donations of all kinds (food, clothing, and personal hygiene items).  They also welcome volunteers!  A wide variety of tasks and skills are needed.  Feel free to speak with The Manna Center if you’d like to help.  You can also connect directly with Phyllis Thurman to learn more.
