I wanted to take a moment to update you on what is going on at Proclamation Institute Zambia.  They have some exciting updates, and I am eager to share about how the Lord has been faithful to this ministry. 

If you are new to FPC or are unfamiliar with the work of PIZ, I’ll share a brief explanation.  PIZ is a bible training college in Zambia.  They are committed to training men and women to preach the Word of God and to equip and empower their students to start churches or serve in existing churches in Zambia.  The school is growing and the interest from the community is great.  They recently expanded from a one-year program to a two-year program.  They also do local outreaches where they travel to villages all over Zambia and help train pastors of existing churches to improve their expository preaching.  They hold an annual preaching conference each November as well, in conjunction with the school’s graduation.  FPC has been supporting this ministry for many years.  Our congregation has sponsored students, sent financial gifts, and we have many members of our congregation that have served on a U.S. based board called Friends of PIZ that aids in the fundraising work for the college. Our end of year gift for 2025 went to purchase a new water pump for the school.  The founder, Andrew Muwowo, has visited and preached several times, and he is scheduled to visit us again this summer.  We look forward to hosting him, learning from him, and getting to fellowship with him, so be on the lookout for details about his visit coming soon. 

At the end of 2025, PIZ received a $20,000 grant from Cornerstone Trust to aid in the pastoral training they provide to local pastors.  This is a huge blessing because the desire of local pastors to learn and grow has been clearly seen on their training trips over the past several years and the leaders at PIZ are grateful to be further equipped to serve Zambian churches and ministers in this way.

For this current school year, they have 20 students enrolled. Two of the school’s lecturers were able to attend a helpful course at Johannesburg Bible College in January.  The school’s current needs include a new van, some items for travel ministry, such as a portable PA system, and a new lawn mower for the campus.  Please pray for the students as they study and grow this year, that they may grasp the principles and content being taught and be able to feel equipped and empowered for the ministry God has called them to. Also pray for the lecturers and other staff as they seek to support and teach the students.
